Passion is what keeps us happy
We slept in tents and in the back of the car, nothing fancy. We drove a very long way for a weekend of noise and dust, and shot it on whatever gear we could afford at the time. None of it expensive. All of it real.
What I remember is not really the pictures. It is the people. The ones we travelled with, the ones we met in a paddock at six in the morning, the ones who handed over a lens when ours gave up and never made a thing of it. Simple living, and better for it.
We all had our time. I hope everyone who was part of it looks back on it the way I do, with a great big smile on.
For my own career it has meant everything that came after. I still make photos and films every day. It is my job now, and most of it is for other people, which is a good life and I am not complaining. But I miss shooting for no reason at all except that I wanted to.
Passion is what keeps us happy. That is the whole thing, really.
Thank you, everyone. It was fun. This may never be read, but those who know, knows.
If you can dream it, you can do it.
